HOW IT WORKS

From a photograph to something worth keeping.

Choose your piece
STEP ONE

Choose a favorite photograph.

Natural light and an eye-level view are ideal. Ears, face, neck, and chest should be visible when possible. You do not need a studio camera — you need a clear view of the features that make your pet recognizable.

If the image is not right, the studio will help you choose another before any artwork begins.

STEP TWO

Make the piece your own.

Select the format, size, frame or garment, colors, name, and the details unique to the product. Every important choice is shown in plain language before you add the piece to your cart.

STEP THREE

The studio creates the artwork.

Your photograph is translated into the chosen Elm & Tail style with attention to expression, markings, and proportion — the small details only you would notice are the ones we watch most closely.

STEP FOUR

Approve the proof.

A proof is emailed before production. Review the likeness, the name spelling, the background, and the composition. Ask for refinements until the expression feels right; nothing is made until you approve.

STEP FIVE

We make and send it.

After approval, the piece is printed, framed, engraved, cut, or embroidered, then packed carefully and sent with tracking.

THE APPROVAL PROMISE

Love the proof before we make the piece. Production begins only after approval.

PROCESS QUESTIONS

The practical details

Can I change my photograph after ordering?

Yes — until artwork begins. Reply to your order confirmation with the new image.

How many refinements can I request?

Refinements before production are included. The studio will confirm scope in your proof email so expectations are clear.

When can I cancel?

Any time before artwork begins, for a full refund. After proof approval, production starts and the order can no longer be cancelled.

Is this a gift-friendly process?

Very. Add a note at checkout; prices stay out of the parcel.

Can I reuse the artwork later?

Yes — mugs and keepsakes can reuse artwork from a previous Elm & Tail order after ownership is verified.
