Select the format, size, frame or garment, colors, name, and the details unique to the product.
3 — The studio creates the artwork
Your photograph is translated into the chosen Elm & Tail style with attention to expression, markings, and proportion.
4 — Approve the proof
Review the design before production. Ask for refinements until it feels right.
5 — We make and send it
After approval, the piece is printed, framed, engraved, cut, or embroidered and sent with tracking.

What makes a good pet photograph?
Natural or even light, an eye-level angle, and a clear view of the face and ears. See the photo guide for examples.
Can you include more than one pet?
The Double Portrait is composed for exactly two companions. For three or more, contact the studio before ordering.
Can I use separate photographs for two pets?
Yes — upload one clear photograph for each pet and the studio balances scale and composition into a single piece.
Will I see the artwork before it is made?
Yes. A proof is emailed for your approval, and production begins only after you approve it. Refinements are included before production.
What if my photograph is not suitable?
The studio checks every photograph before artwork begins and will contact you for an alternative if important detail is missing — an unsuitable image is never silently used.
How long does the order take?
Timing varies by piece and is confirmed at checkout as each product class’s schedule is verified. Artwork and proof come first; production and tracked shipping follow your approval.
Can I change my order?
Changes are possible until artwork or production begins. Reply to your order confirmation or proof email and the studio will help.
Can I return a personalized item?
Personalized pieces are generally not returnable for preference after proof approval. Damaged or incorrect items are always made right — see the Custom Artwork & Approval Policy.
Can I reuse artwork on another product?
Yes. Choose “Reuse existing Elm & Tail artwork” on mugs and keepsakes and provide your order number; the studio verifies ownership first.
Is shipping free?
Standard U.S. shipping is complimentary on orders over $100, as shown in the announcement bar and shipping policy.
